Hello and welcome to Woodlands Pre-School & Nursery. We are a private childcare setting, offering excellent quality care for children aged from two years until they start full time school in Reception aged 4/5 years. Free, Government funded sessions are available from the term following your child’s third birthday.

Established in 1988 as Rectory Lane Nursery we changed our name in September 2011 reflecting our relocation within Stevenage, whilst continuing to maintain our high standards, aims and commitments. We are a friendly setting providing high staff:child ratios in a pleasant, secure environment, purpose built and designed by us.

Our fully qualified staff ensure that the children benefit from the latest best practice in childcare. From the age of two they learn to socialise and form friendships, enjoy trips and outings as well as meeting the areas of learning and development set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage. We value traditional activities, toys and games whilst embracing the innovation of technologies including iPads and computers. Nursery Hours

Nursery hours are:

Monday - Friday            Mornings 9.15am - 12.15pm       both Squirrels & Owls
Monday - Friday            Afternoons 12.30pm - 3.30pm    Owl Room (3/4 year olds)

Monday & Wednesday   Afternoons 12.30pm - 3pm         Squirrels Room (2 yearolds)

How to find us

Woodlands Pre-School and Nursery is situated in the grounds of Woolenwick Junior School, Bridge Road West, Stevenage. Our entrance is off Gunnels Wood Road, follow pathway around school. Use buzzer system for admitance. Telephone 01438 746398.

We are conveniently located for Stevenage Industrial area, Symonds Green, the old town and new town.
